MEP Estimator

Job Description

The Project Manager - Estimator will help manage critical project activities and estimating needs for Patriot Plumbing.

This person will interact closely with project managers, Chief Estimator, finance team, outside supervisors, technical staff, suppliers and vendors, customers, and other administrative personnel to support the successful accomplishment of key project milestones.

He/she will ensure the timely and satisfactory delivery of project and estimating deliverables to customer specified requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compiles detailed estimates for bid proposals, is responsible for job cost management, material buy out, and procurement.

  • Creates and monitors budgets, tracks expenses, and coordinates financial information for contracts and subcontracts.

  • Attends to monthly billing of all contracts with accounts receivable.

  • Oversees project submittals, O&M Manuals, warranties and permitting.

  • Performs day to day management of multiple projects and clients.

  • Conducts daily communication with Foreman to ensure they have the labor, materials, tools and direction to maintain job schedules.

  • Attends on-site project meetings with General Contractors and other trades.

  • Creates and updates project schedules and status/progress information.

  • Creates and tracks various reports, presentations, tables, charts, and other documents as directed.

  • Enters and tracks data in database system, and maintains records, logs, drawings, and filing systems (electronic and paper).

  • Arranges and coordinates internal and external meetings.

  • Supports administratively other project and personnel needs as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements

  • 5+ years of directly related professional experience as an Estimator-Project Manager required. High school degree required, college degree preferred.

  • Ability to be a team player, a self-starter, and an independent thinker.

  • Strong attention to detail and displays in-depth organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; strong written and analytical skills required.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, involving solving complex and varying problems.

  • Strong computer skills and existing proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Knowledge of Sage and MS-Project highly desired.
