Energy Optimization through Data

Presented by Jules Nohra

When it comes to building management, there are many different ways that facilities across the country are moving toward a future of smarter technology and more connected digital systems. As building management software becomes more sophisticated, facility managers can more easily view the operational efficiency of their energy. Many of these solutions focus on the use of real-time data and alerts to identify problems that can make it harder to maintain occupant comfort, reduce energy costs and improve maintenance outcomes. As these practices have evolved, the term fault detection and diagnostics (FDD) has been increasingly applied to this process of identifying, isolating, and diagnosing building performance issues.

Jules Nohra is the Director of Optimization Services at SourceOne, responsible for the coordination and product development of Hubgrade services. Mr. Nohra recently re-joined the SourceOne team after serving as Senior Energy Engineering Manager for FirstFuel, where he led the development of scalable energy analytics for commercial buildings. He was responsible for guiding the energy analytics roadmap for FirstFuel’s software products. Mr. Nohra previously served as Energy Efficiency Manager in SourceOne’s Boston office, where he managed a team of engineers focusing on energy efficiency auditing, commissioning, and energy metering. Jules holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MS in Energy Systems from Northeastern University. He holds a Professional Engineering license in the State of Massachusetts.

Chilled Beam Technology

Presented by Gianco Tosi

Learn how radiant panels and active chilled beams work, what make them energy efficient and economical, and how they are being use in high end net zero and architecturally driven projects. It will cover design considerations, control sequences and best practices

Gianca has over 25 years in HVAC application experience in a range of fields, including Manufacturing, product design, programming and sales. Giancarlo is back with Dadanco/Mestek after working three years with Barcol Air USA as the VP of Sales. Barcol Air USA is located in Oxford CT. They are a manufacturer of Radiant Ceiling Systems and Active Chilled Beams. Giancarlo is focused on creating comfortable, affordable, energy efficient HVAC solutions. Before that Giancarlo has been with Mestek since 1993. 2009-2014 he worked for Dadanco a division of Mestek. He designed Active chilled beams, worked with architect/engineering firms designing ACB systems and worked on many Green certified projects. He has worked as the product manager in the technology group and established the printed circuit board manufacturing for RBI, Hydrotherm and Smith’s HeatNet boiler control. He has implemented and developed business software for reps (Profitworks and SalesAssistant) as well as configuration software (Omegaflex and Sterling Specifiers) that help select and specify Mestek Products. He was part of the corporate engineering staff and designed and developed products (Twinflow III kickspace heaters) and provided engineering design and support for multiple Mestek Products. He has implemented and launched Salesfore.com for Dadanco and engineered their Revit MEP BIM models.
